Fire Snakes are a unique type of poi that produce patterned streaks of fire instead of the traditional fire balls typically seen in poi. Combine a few people with snakes and a few with cathedral poi to create a dazzling effect.

Our Snakes are weighted for balance and have hand stuffed hybrid wicks that burn twice as bright and twice as long as standard rope wick.  We use synthetic fiber in our wicks which burn as long as cotton stuffed wicks, but with a heat resistance higher than Kevlar so they have a much longer life span.  Our regular wicks are 1 " (25mm) diameter to give you a big burn, and are 13" (330mm) long.   Our large wicks are the same, but 18" (457mm) long and our Super wicks are a full 1 - 1/4" (32mm) in diameter and 22" (560mm) long for a huge flame.  All are available as doubles, which add a cathedral wick to the bottom for even more flame.  The grips are made of durable Kevlar and sewn with Kevlar thread for strength and durability.

We use only #15 (5/16") industrial grade stainless steel ball chain (rated to 125 lbs.) and stainless steel quick links, not the cheap stuff found at hardware stores that is prone to breakage, which is why we guarantee all of our hardware for 1 year.   We find ball chain to be the easiest to use with the least tangling, but keep in mind that poi has many moving parts and no hardware will last forever, especially when mixed with fire.  For that reason, we recommend inspecting all hardware before you light up, and changing out your hardware periodically to ensure optimum safety.

Consider using these poi with longer chains because the fire will work its way up the wick. If you choose to use shorter chains, do not dip the wick all the way to the top, and keep them moving to prevent burns.

We offer a choice of 3 handles. We prefer the single loop grips for most people because we find them to provide the best control and security while spinning. Our ball grips are made for experienced users that want to release and catch their poi during a routine.
